Currently, the journal is actively formulating strategies and policies to secure indexing in prestigious databases such as the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), Scopus, and Web of Science (WoS). The incoming Associate Editor will play a crucial role in executing policies aimed at enhancing the journal’s eligibility for inclusion in these databases.
Qualifications
Prospective candidates are expected to possess the following qualifications:
- A Doctorate (PhD) in Genetic Engineering, Biotechnology, Bioscience, or a related field, showcasing expertise in advanced research domains.
- Previous engagement with international research journals, preferably in editorial capacities such as Regional Editor, Guest Editor, or similar roles.
- A distinguished rank of Professor or Associate Professor at a reputable university, signifying leadership and academic excellence.
- An illustrious history of academic and scholarly achievements, including impactful research contributions and noteworthy scientific publications.
- Demonstrable proficiency in research design, methodologies, statistical analysis, and commitment to adherence to research reporting standards within the field of Bioscience and Biotechnology research.
- Adeptness in critically assessing submitted manuscripts, overseeing the peer review process, and mediating author interactions.
- Outstanding organizational skills, effective communication capabilities, and proficiency in presentations and public speaking.

Associate Editor Role and Responsibilities
The Associate Editor, serving in a voluntary capacity, will be entrusted with the following key responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with the publisher and the broader editorial team to define the journal’s vision and establish priority areas.
- Ensure thorough, impartial, and punctual peer review procedures for all accepted articles, maintaining the highest standards of quality and integrity.
- Serve as a decision-maker, evaluating scientific merit, originality, and relevance for potential publication.
- Supervise Consulting Editors, ensuring streamlined operations and adherence to timelines.
- Sustain an engaged and technically proficient Editorial Board reflecting geographical, demographic, and cultural diversity.
- Secure ongoing Editorial Board involvement through regular communication and assessments.
- Maintain strict adherence to benchmarks for exceptional quality and ethical conduct.
- Recruit and retain capable reviewers, ensuring comprehensive evaluations.
- Foster growth in journal usage and submissions through strategic planning.

Term of Service
The selected candidate is anticipated to assume the position of Associate Editor for an initial one-year term, commencing on February 1, 2024.
