Call for Associate Editor: Asian Journal of Medical and Biological Research

Ebu Press Ltd is pleased to announce the opening for the position of Associate Editor for the Asian Journal of Medical and Biological Research (AJMBR). We invite highly qualified individuals with a passion for advancing medical and biological sciences to join our esteemed editorial team and contribute to the scholarly growth and impact of the journal.

About the Journal

AJMBR is a distinguished international scholarly journal dedicated to exploring and advancing medical and biological sciences. As a platform for global scientific exchange, AJMBR actively seeks to broaden its scope, encompassing diverse facets of research in these fields. The journal welcomes contributions from scholar’s worldwide, fostering inclusivity and global engagement. AJMBR is proudly indexed in esteemed databases, including BanglaJOL, CAB Abstracts (CABI), Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS), Crossref, Electronic Journals Library, Global Health (CABI), Google Scholar, JournalSeek, and WorldCat. It is also a devoted member of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and is actively working towards securing indexing in prestigious databases such as the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), Scopus, and Web of Science (WoS).

Qualifications

Prospective Associate Editors are expected to possess the following qualifications:

  • A Doctorate (PhD) in Medical Science, Dental Science, Veterinary Science, Animal Husbandry, Agriculture, Environmental Science, Fisheries, Food Science and Nutrition, Zoology, Plant Science and Botany, Marine Biology and Marine Science, Pharmaceutical Science, Biochemistry, Cellular and Molecular Life Sciences, or related fields.
  • Previous engagement with international research journals, preferably in editorial capacities such as Regional Editor, Associate Editor, Guest Editor, or similar roles.
  • A distinguished rank of Professor or Associate Professor at a reputable university, showcasing leadership and academic excellence.
  • An established record of academic and scholarly achievements, including impactful research contributions and notable scientific publications.
  • Proficiency in research design, methodologies, statistical analysis, and commitment to adherence to research reporting standards within the field of medical and biological science related research.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills, essential for collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with publishing content models and proficiency in navigating web-based manuscript processing systems are desirable.
  • Demonstrated capability for collaborative teamwork with minimal supervision.

Associate Editor Role and Responsibilities

The Associate Editor, playing a crucial role in the editorial team, will be entrusted with the following key responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with the editorial team to define the journal’s vision, establish priority areas, and contribute to strategic discussions for long-term objectives.
  • Ensure that every article accepted for publication undergoes a thorough, impartial, and punctual peer review procedure, maintaining the highest standards of quality and integrity in the publication process.
  • Serve as a decision-maker, responsible for determining whether submitted materials should be accepted or rejected for potential publication, based on scientific merit, originality, and relevance.
  • Supervise the Editors and monitor the execution of their designated roles and duties, including the coordination of the peer review process, ensuring streamlined operations, and adherence to established timelines.
  • Sustain an engaged, highly regarded, and technically proficient Editorial Board comprised of individuals representing diverse geographical, demographic, and cultural backgrounds.
  • Secure the ongoing involvement of the Editorial Board in the journal’s activities by maintaining regular communication and conducting periodic assessments of their contributions.
  • Maintain strict adherence to established benchmarks for exceptional quality and ethical conduct in scholarly publications, upholding ethical standards to preserve the integrity of the journal.
  • Recruit and retain capable reviewers with diverse fields of expertise, strategically expanding the reviewer pool to ensure thorough and comprehensive evaluations.
  • Ensure that the journal’s content is valuable, fosters growth in terms of journal usage and submissions, and contributes to the overall quality of the content through strategic planning and content development.
  • Establish clear, effective, timely, and courteous communication channels with authors, reviewers, editors, and journal staff, fostering positive relationships and ensuring a smooth workflow throughout the publication process.
  • Collaborate with editorial and publisher personnel to guarantee the punctual release of journal issues.

Term of Service

The selected candidate is anticipated to assume the position of Associate Editor for an initial one-year term, commencing from 1st February 2024, contributing to the journal’s growth and development.
