The Consulting Editors will play a pivotal role in shaping the direction and maintaining the high standards of this internationally recognized scholarly journal.
About the Journal
The AAJFSS is dedicated to publishing cutting-edge research on food safety and security. Currently indexed in renowned databases such as BanglaJOL, CAB Abstracts, Chemical Abstracts Service, Crossref, Global Health, and Google Scholar, the journal is actively pursuing inclusion in databases like the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), Scopus, and Web of Science (WoS).
Qualifications
Prospective Consulting Editors should possess:
- A Ph.D. in food science, molecular food biology, food hygiene, food microbial ecology, food process systems design, food packaging technology, food toxicology, nutritional science, food safety and security, or an equivalent field.
- Previous experience in an international research journal, preferably in an editorial capacity.
- Demonstrated expertise in research design, methodologies, and a commitment to adherence to research reporting standards.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Familiarity with publishing content models and web-based manuscript processing systems is preferred.

Responsibilities of Consulting Editors
As a Consulting Editor, your responsibilities will include:
- Actively participate in the oversight of the peer review process to ensure rigorous, impartial, and timely evaluations of submitted manuscripts.
- Contribute to maintaining the highest standards of quality and integrity in the publication process, ensuring that accepted articles meet the journal’s criteria for scientific merit, originality, and relevance.
- Collaborate with the editorial team in defining the journal’s vision, establishing priority areas, and contributing to strategic discussions for long-term objectives.
- Assist in the recruitment and retention of capable reviewers with diverse fields of expertise to ensure comprehensive evaluations.
- Uphold and promote ethical standards in scholarly publications, promptly addressing publication ethics concerns and allegations of misconduct.
- Contribute to maintaining an engaged, diverse, and technically proficient Editorial Board, reflecting various geographical, demographic, and cultural backgrounds.
- Maintain effective communication channels with authors, reviewers, editors, and journal staff, fostering positive relationships and ensuring smooth workflow throughout the publication process.
Term of Service
The selected candidate for the position of Consulting Editor is anticipated to assume the role for an initial one-year term, commencing on February 1, 2024.
